Actually, it’s getting better… A couple of the sub-plots are starting to pay off, and I’m liking Antoine Batiste. The Steve Zahn character is still incredibly annoying, though. But it beats the shit out of reality TV.

Hi Tim,
Mary just told me about your blog so I’ve just read this one post. I feel your pain (even as a longtime New Yorker), rooting for Cleveland sports.
Anyhow, nice music interspersing your comments. But one thing I don’t get is your problem with Treme. I think it’s among the best TV ever, especially when I see some of my favorite characters from The Wire and Deadwood getting important roles in this series. (I guess I’ll read some of your other columns to find what your criticisms are- then I’ll respond again)

I wish what you wrote about Cleveland sports teams wasn’t true, but there it is (well written). Plus, you didn’t even get into the Browns saga.

Yeah, her smiling face (as a 13-year-old) was greeting me when I turned on yahoo this morning. Did you know Kelly Clarkson is performing Dan’s “Lies” in concert? I hear she does a fairly credible version too.

Oh, and her name is Crystal, by the way (still Julie here)……and she’s an Ohio girl, too…from somewhere near Toledo, I think….been watching her with Courtney and Dave this whole season…I read the critics saying this is the least talented group ever on the show…hmmmm….just the opposite for me! Guilty pleasure! (That and the housewives….talk about living vicariously…hahahahahahahaaha! )

Hey Tim…Julie here…another great post…(have linked it to my facebook page…yeah, I really have one! Ha ha) I love what you do here! I’ve got mixed feelings about the guys heading to Nashville…certainly a much more musically supportive city, & no question the “Southern Hospitality” thing is alive and well, but I will miss having them here. LeBron, too…yeah, they have all paid their dues, and have obviously outgrown this city/region that doesn’t know what to do with exceptionally talented people except to try to live vicariously through them or “bring them down a peg”…but wouldn’t it be nice to keep a measure of excellence here and grow it bigger? (Sigh) Melancholy musings at 2:00 a.m….
