Love that too... can't have too much Otis in your life. And yes, new Tighten Up video is a vast improvement over "unofficial" version. I'll try to add it to my next post.

Since Alex jump started the favorite moments again:
I love Otis Redding's Monterey Pop Festival performance, particularly "I've Been Loving You (Too Long)" when, unsatisfied with his first round of "OH!"s, he stops the band and tries it again... and then again... until the noise from the crowd overwhelms the band. I've played that on my record player so many times that I know exactly where to put the needle if I needed to jump to it... but that would require skipping the whole first verse, which is probably a crime in its self.

On an unrelated note, I'm glad there's a new video for "Tighten Up". I like The Black Keys as much as the next guy, if not a little more so, but that dinosaur was pretty damn stupid.

You're right... I'll fix it. It's definitely the Muscle Shoals session guys, but recorded elsewhere. Guess you're expecting another goddam ribbon!

Yay, a ribbon!
New Black Keys album is great, gave it a couple of spins(?) at NPR. Looking forward to the vinyl. Are you sure about It Ain't Fair being recorded in Muscle Shoals? I thought it was recorded in Miami, at Criteria studios or somehthing.

It's probably a bit late, but as for great moments in modern music:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX1jKXHqe-c

I found this a last year when my 17-year old self was deep in the throes of (never ending) blues obsessiveness, and it basically made my brain stop functioning. The only thing I'd ever heard Son House say about Buddy Guy was that his music was "monkeyjunk", so I don't know if it was before, after, or because of, this performance, but it's ridiculous nonetheless!
