Correction: the first use of the word “Bolo” (before “R&B band The Checkers”) is a typo due to my slow computer feed putting the word in the wrong spot. The Checkers was not a Bolo release. Sorry!

While the Chuck Mahaffey LP featuring Coryell is indeed a nice one, it is certainly not Larry’s first recording. He began his career in the east-of-the-Cascade mountains Bolo R&B band The Checkers, then headed over to Seattle for a stint in The Dynamics during which time he recorded numerous tracks, some that came out on 45s at the time on the Bolo-Seafair group of labels, the rest that saw release in 2009 on a double Bolo CD release by “The Dynamics featuring Jimmy Hanna”. Highly recommended for purchase via a simple Google search of vendors.
